Dunkirk Mills is a Grade II listed site and is reputed to be one of the finest surviving mills of its kind in Gloucestershire. Built in the Georgian era and powered by water from the Nailsworth valley, the mills became a prominent site of textile manufacturing in the nineteenth century. In the late twentieth century the buildings were converted into accommodation with private leisure facilities. Nailsworth (1/2 mile) is a small but busy market town situated on the west side of The Cotswolds in beautiful and unique countryside. The town (population c.7000) is a hive of industry and is still very much a working place to live, with plenty of thriving local businesses and a great range of shops and amenities including butchers, bakers, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, Post Office, library, doctors, bus station and playing field to name a few.
